A Rejuvenated Farmhouse
The house sits by the lane overlooking the valley. There is a main room, 1 main bedroom and wash room on the ground floor. The extension is under renovation. The upstairs loft is an open space with 6 beds. Solar power provides lighting at night and allows for charging devices. The washroom can be used for personal washing, sponge baths, teeth cleaning, etc. and an indoor toilet can be used for peeing, especially at night. The outdoor composting toilet is airy and comfortable with a view of the valley.
During the summer, we enjoy and use the outdoors – on the south side is a mosquito tent and picnic table, while on the north side of the house is the rustic kitchen with BBQ, sink stand, water provided by rain barrels, cupboards with dishes etc. We have both a propane camp stove and a BBQ for cooking. Coolers with ice provide refrigeration. An outside shower fed from rain barrels looks out onto the trees.
